Podere La Quercia was born from the meeting of two passions: a love for the land and a passion for hospitality. Two different paths, one shared vision<\/h2>\n

We are Mattia and Francesca.<\/p>\n

Mattia is a winemaker who has always dreamed of crafting wines that truly express the character of the land they come from.<\/p>\n

Francesca studied Classics and Ancient Greek History. She has always been fascinated by stories, mythology, and places that preserve memory and tradition. That passion still lives on today in the names of our wines and rooms, inspired by Greek mythology, and in the way we share the story of Podere La Quercia with our guests.<\/p>\n

After her studies, she built her career in tourism, convinced that true hospitality is about making every guest feel genuinely at home.<\/p>\n

Looking for the right place<\/h2>\n

For years, we searched for the place that could become the home of our project. We weren’t simply looking to open an agriturismo; we were searching for somewhere that reflected our vision of Tuscany: authentic, surrounded by nature, with wine and hospitality at its heart.<\/p>\n

The moment we arrived at Podere La Quercia, we knew we had found it.<\/p>\n

We fell in love with its hillside setting, the breathtaking view of the towers of San Gimignano, the peaceful vineyards, and the timeless atmosphere of the villa. It was exactly the place where we imagined building our future.<\/p>\n

At first, it seemed like a dream that might never come true. But we never stopped believing in it. A story that began long before us<\/h2>\n

The story of Podere La Quercia did not begin with us.<\/p>\n

Back in the 1970s, Guglielmo and Lisetta Ortolani<\/strong> built this estate, creating what would become Podere La Quercia. They were among the founders of the Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG<\/strong>, helping to shape the history of one of Tuscany’s most iconic white wines.<\/p>\n

For many years, the estate reflected their dedication and passion. For us, purchasing Podere La Quercia was never simply about buying a property.<\/p>\n

It meant embracing a legacy built on passion, hard work, and a deep love for this land.<\/p>\n

With great respect for its history, we brought new life to the vineyards, carefully restored the villa, and transformed it into a welcoming agriturismo where guests from around the world can experience the beauty of Tuscany.<\/p>\n

Our goal was never to change the soul of this place, but to give it a new chapter \u2014 creating a home where wine, hospitality and the surrounding landscape come together to tell the authentic story of Tuscany.<\/p>\n

Today, Podere La Quercia is a small family-run winery and agriturismo, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, with a breathtaking view over the towers of San Gimignano.<\/p>\n

Here we produce our own wines and extra virgin olive oil, welcome travellers from all over the world, and share what we love most: the beauty of simple things, the slower rhythm of the countryside, and the feeling of being at home.<\/p>\n

To us, hospitality means much more than offering a place to stay. It means inviting our guests to experience Tuscany as we live it every day \u2014 with authenticity, passion, and a genuine desire to create memories that will last long after the journey is over.<\/p>\n

No dream is ever built alone.<\/h4>\n

If Podere La Quercia is a reality today, it is also thanks to the people who believed in us from the very beginning and supported us in turning a dream into a life’s project.<\/p>\n
